Others included entrepreneur Nathaniel Peat, Jordan Kensington, the head of Invincible Records and twice Olympian Stephanie Douglas, all of whom gave up their time on Wednesday to encourage our students to aim as high as they can.

Maths success

Congratulations to the 19 students who gained grade C or above in their Maths GCSE in November. That makes 28 who already have Maths GCSE under their belts. Well done guys!

Sports leadership academy

Maryanne, Evie, Elizabeth and Victoria in year 10 are now part of the Lewisham Sports Leaders academy.  They have attended their induction meeting and will be involved in organising and assisting in sports event across the borough in the future.  There'll be more to come on this programme in the future.

Making music with IT

We’re always keeping an eye out for ways of using new technology in our teaching and when we were asked to trial Moomba music, a music programme for primary students, we jumped at the chance. Read more

Chaplaincy news

The Chaplains at St Matthew Academy have been invited to St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School in Bexleyheath on Wednesday 1 February to attend the commissioning Mass for their new School Lay Chaplain, Fred Umney. Read more
